Timber! Why the UK needs the wood - and the trees

8 December 2022

Confor is holding its first major post-pandemic UK policy conference at the QEII Centre, Westminster, on Thursday 8 December 2022.

'Timber! Why the UK needs the wood - and the trees' examines the wide-ranging policy drivers for greater tree planting and wood use - and the barriers which are preventing significant progress.

It will also highlight the work of Confor and its members in promoting the sector in areas like community engagement and developing the next generation of professionals.

A Government Minister will be invited when the new Cabinet is appointed, and we will have a cross-party political panel in the afternoon. The full-day event will be held in the heart of Westminster, at the QEII Centre, just off Parliament Square, between approximately 10am and 4pm.

We hope you will take the opportunity to attend this important event. Have your say during the conference sessions, network with a range of forestry and wood professionals, and share robust discussion and ideas.

See below for our schedule of events (subject to change).

Confor members can book at the specially-discounted rate of £50+VAT, which includes access to all sessions, lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Non-member tickets are £75+VAT.

We advise early booking, as places are limited and we anticipate a high demand to attend. For any enquiries about booking, or the event itself, please contact eliza@confor.org.uk.
