Student tours at APF 2026

Forestry is an industry that offers many career routes, more than just the stereotypical lumberjack. Forestry includes managers, supervisors, planners, ecologists, logistics experts, researchers, plus many more.

To highlight the fantastic opportunities forestry has, Confor is offering free entry to the APF show along with a tour of the show ground and introductions to forestry organisations that are keen to hire graduates.

The APF exhibition is the largest forestry show in the UK and is attended by the majority of large industry organisations. This year's event is the Golden Anniversary, celebrating 50 years of the APF on 24-26 September 2026 at the Ragley Estate, Warwickshire.

Forestry in the UK is a very sustainable and growing industry. It creates a high value product and supports many environmental benefits (show woodland benefit infographic about benefits). Trees are at the forefront of the climate change battle, highlighted by the Governments tree planting targets. However the sector needs new people to join in order to continue the amazing work so far.

On Friday 25 September we are hosting:

A panel discussion on forestry careers with speakers from a range of backgrounds and roles will share their experiences of getting into and working in forestry.
Tour of the show ground
Introduction to organisations with graduate schemes
Talks by industry experts covering the whole forestry sector from seed to sawn.

Students at APF 2022

The tours are open to students due to complete any land based related degree in 2027. Places are limited and will be assigned on a first come first served basis.

In order to gain free entry to the show you will be asked to become a member of Confor prior to attending the event. Membership will be free until the next renewal which is due October 2026. You will then have the choice to continue with membership at the normal rate or allow it to lapse at no cost. Currently student membership for 2026/27 is £41.83.
