Answering questions from the public
Guidance on how best to communicate with members of the public and tackle some of the common misconceptions of modern forestry.
At a glance...
This document identifies some of the queries and negative associations you may expect to encounter around planting projects, particularly from non-industry affiliated individuals and groups.
To avoid these concerns overrunning the narrative, we have provided standardised responses that are intended to educate and engage the questioning parties.
You are encouraged to utilise these responses wherever possible. However, this list is not exhaustive and presents a topline view of the sector that is suited to members of the public who are unfamiliar with the minutiae of forestry and productive woodlands.
We recommend that more nuanced enquiries are dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

These guidelines include any media such as print, online, or when spoken if interviews are taking place.
