Farewell to Roland Stiven

Roland Stiven, Timber Transport lead and Confor company secretary, moves on.

Everyone at Confor is sad to see Roland Stiven depart Confor and his role as Timber Transport Officer. Roland will begin a new role with Scottish Forestry in the New Year.

Confor employed Roland in 2009 to work with the Timber Transport Forum and to help manage the Scottish Timber Transport Fund. Roland quickly got to grasp with his new role and soon became an effective and widely respected figure in timber transport.

In recent years, Roland also became Confor’s Company Secretary and managed budgets for Confor and for Wood for Good. While Roland will be missed, everyone at Confor wishes him well in the new role.

A recruitment process is underway to secure a new Timber Transport Officer. Meanwhile Confor is very pleased to announce that Kirstin Donaldson will be joining Confor in the New Year to take over as Company Secretary and Head of Finance on a part-time basis.

Kirstin is a fully qualified accountant and trained at KPMG before moving into industry. She has developed her career impressively through to her most recent role as COO at Speirs and Jeffrey and then Rathbones following their purchase of the business. She is used to working and advising at board level and keen to work in a smaller environment but still make an impact.
