England Tree Action Plan: Confor members' meeting

12 May 2021

Confor has been working with Defra to arrange a members’ meeting to discuss the England Tree Action Plan, and what it means for our industry.

Forestry Minister Lord Goldsmith has agreed to attend and speak at the start of this online event - on Tuesday 8th June, 1-2.15pm.

The England Tree Action Plan is due to be published in late May and it is vital Confor and its members continue to engage in detail to press for specific actions to be implemented to deliver the planting and timber supply needed in the coming decades.

After Lord Goldsmith has spoken, Naomi Matthiessen and Bella Murfin, Joint Directors of the Tree Planting Programme at Defra, will outline the main elements of the Action Plan.

Caroline Ayre, Confor's National Manager for England, will respond on behalf of the industry before an opportunity for members to ask questions.

You can register a question in advance when you sign up - which you can do here

Caroline Ayre said: "It is vital that Confor members engage fully with the action plan, and work to ensure that it supports a thriving forestry and wood-using industry - so I encourage all members to attend this important meeting."
