Winton Estate, just 30 minutes from Edinburgh, is looking for a Forestry & Sawmill Manager to lead its forestry team and drive a thriving timber enterprise.
Over 800 acres of mixed woodland make up 40% of the estate; a new sawmill is intended to play a central role in generating a profit, enabling genuine sustainability. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for wood, a head for business, and the skills to transform raw timber into high-value products.
What We’re Looking For:
- A skilled sawmiller and progressive forester with ambition, intelligence and pride, integrating regenerative silviculture with profitable timber processing.
- Experience managing teams and optimising wood processing operations.
- A business-savvy individual ready to expand sales and improve efficiency, measuring success against three Ps of Profit, Planet and People.
