Northern Forest Partnership Innovation Fund

10 June 2019

... launched to support woodland creation over 3 hectares

Further to the Art of the Possible workshop in late March, the £2.1m Northern Forest Partnership Innovation Fund went live on Friday 7th June.

The funding is available to support large scale woodland creation in the Northern Forest area delivered through innovative models and mechanisms.

With the support of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the Woodland Trust is managing the Fund, which will foster the creation of new woodlands of three hectares or more across the Northern Forest by the planting of 1 million trees by March 2022.

You can apply for support for up to 50% of eligible costs e.g. £1 of funding for every £1 of match funding provided by the applicant. All planting supported by the Fund must be completed by the end of March 2022.

Applicants are required to apply through a 2- stage process – an Expression of Interest Form and a Full Application Form. The forms are available as re-writable PDF’s.

Visit https://thenorthernforest.org.uk/get-involved/ for further information and to download the application forms.

Please note that for the 2019/20 planting season, the deadline for full applications is 31 July 2019.

Decisions on EOI’s will be made within three weeks of receipt, while decisions on full applications will be made by the end of September 2019.
