The Management Board comprises the Directors of the company, drawn from across the industry.
The Management Board is responsible for good governance and ensuring Confor meets its statutory obligations.
Ian Duncan
Lord Duncan of Springbank PhD FGS
Appointed a working peer by UK Prime Minister in 2017, Ian is currently Deputy Speaker of the House of Lords.
Previously Ian was a UK Government Minister, serving in each of the territorial departments (Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland) and laterly as Minister for Climate Change with responsibility for international negotiations. Before joining the Government, he spent over a dozen years in Brussels, finally as an MEP. During his time in the European Parliament, Ian sat on the committees responsible for Environment and for Energy (ITRE). He was the Parliament’s chief negotiator on the reform of EU carbon markets and was his group’s chief negotiator on nine pieces of environmental legislation. During his tenure he was ranked the 10th most influential MEP on environmental policy and 6th on energy by Votewatch; and 15th most influential individual in the EU on Energy by Euractiv. Ian previously worked for BP, the Scottish Refugee Council, the Scottish Fishermen’s Federation and the University of Bristol.
In addition to his other roles, Ian is Chair of the National Forest, President of the English-Speaking Union (Scotland), a Board Member of the Schwarzenegger Institute and a Fellow of the Geological Society. He holds degrees in geology from the Universities of Bristol and St Andrews.
Gavin Davidson
Over 30 years of forestry experience with Iggesund Paperboard Ltd, a member of the Swedish Holmen Group of Companies. Iggesund is the only Folding Box Board manufacturer based in the UK. Director of Holmen's UK Forest Company.
Ian Robinson
With over 30 years working with Scottish Woodlands, Ian became Managing Director in March 2023. He has worked with Scottish Woodlands since 1987, working in a variety of roles with experience in forest management, harvesting, forest certification and staff management. Ian became Operational Director in 2017 and Forestry Director in 2021.
Kirstin Donaldson
Kirstin is Confor’s Head of Finance & Company Secretary. She is responsible for managing all areas of Finance including financial planning and monitoring, reporting to the Board, advising on financial strategy and company reporting as per regulatory and legal requirements. In her role as Company Secretary she is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administration of the company, HR and for ensuring good corporate governance.
Stuart Goodall
Chief Executive of Confor. After 16 years working for the Forestry Commission in a variety of policy development and representational roles, Stuart joined the private sector in 2004, first with Forest Industries Development Council and then Confor.
James Hamilton Stubber
Confor Regional Chairman for Northern Ireland. Woodland Owner, Aughentaine Estate, Co Tyrone, Northern Ireland.
David Leslie
David Leslie is Joint Managing Director of James Jones & Sons Ltd, one of the leading privately owned timber and forestry companies in the UK.
George Webb
Purchasing Director Norbord Europe. Norbord is an international producer of wood-based panels and has 17 plants in Europe and North America. Norbord is the largest OSB producer globally and it has European production facilities at Stirling, Inverness and South Molton in UK and at Genk in Belgium producing OSB, MDF and Particleboard.
