Grade & Salary: 6 - £33,424.00 rising to £36,559.00 over four years

Role Purpose

The post holder will provide specialist advice in either forestry regulation and compliance or tree health and management.  Supporting the forestry and woodland sector in Wales in delivering sustainable woodland management and achieving the desired outcomes in the Woodland for Wales Strategy, to meet the Area Statement and guide our regulatory approach to SMNR and delivering Wellbeing outcomes.

You will:

  • Represent NRW in discussions with partner organisations.
  • Act as technical mentor and advisor to team members.
  • Supervise the planning and delivery of inspection programme and enforcement.
  • Take appropriate actions to collect evidence for enforcement purposes, in accordance with defined procedures.
  • Where non-compliance is identified, determine and implement the most appropriate intervention option.

Co-ordinate the technical development of team members.

Qualifications and Skills

You will have:

  • Knowledge and experience of the forestry sector.
  • Good understanding of commercial business processes and pressures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with regulated business and the public, explaining issues and gaining support by influencing.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience
