Head of Forestry
17 March 2017
The National Forest is one of the country’s most highly respected forestry projects; it’s one of those rare initiatives that demonstrates sustainable development in action, pioneering new ways of working on the national stage through transforming landscapes, lives and the economy.
The National Forest Company champions the vision for The National Forest, taking it from a leap of faith as new trees were planted in the 1990s, through to the nurturing of young woodlands in the 2000s and the success story we see today; with a restored forest landscape, an emerging visitor destination and the active support of local communities. However, there is so much more to do.
We’re seeking a talented Head of Forestry to take the lead in driving forward our forest creation, woodland management and woodland economy work.
The Head of Forestry is a key post, leading a small team pioneering the role of forestry in regeneration. As a multi-skilled forestry professional, you’ll be equally at home inspiring your colleagues, talking to landowners, exploring commercial opportunities and representing the organisation in the national forestry environment. You will also be an excellent leader and innovator with first-class communication and partnership working skills.
