South West Woodland Show 2009

The South West Woodland Show, staged last week at Longleat Estate, defied all expectations: 70 exhibitors, significantly more visitors than the previous show and stunning weather, all set in a beautiful forested backdrop.  Talk was upbeat, flocks of visitors were buying and there was little evidence of recession.  More to follow.

The South West Woodland Show is a biennial event organised by ConFor's south west regional committee, and is THE specialist forestry show in England. 

The show is of interest to:

• forest growers and owners
• farmers with woods
• landowners
• forestry professionals and contractors
• timber buyers and processors
• potential owners of woods, and
• anybody with an interest in the rural environment.

Exhibitors include:

• manufacturers of forestry machinery
• forest advisory and management services
• nurseries and makers of forest products
• woodland craft workers
• wildlife and conservation bodies
• suppliers of wood heating systems.
