November 2015 - first edition of the East & East Midlands Forest Sector Business Directory. This is aimed at bringing our sector together and helping landowners and businesses to connect. FC are planning a second version of this in the New Year.  If you would like to have your details included (at no cost) please email  with a completed form (attached) with "Directory entry" at the subject.

As this is the first version, we can't guarantee that it is without mistakes, if you spot a mistake, or would like to change your entry, please email  with "Directory amendment" as the subject and we will endeavour to get it sorted for the next version. The closing date for new entries or amendments is 30th December 2015.

Inclusion in the directory is not a recommendation or endorsement by the Forestry Commission.

April 2014 - The following request has been received from Moulton College Students:

Woodland Management and the Launch of a Woodland Products Survey!

The last decade has seen a resurgence of interest in items produced sustainably from our native woodlands. Yet in our region, there is no information on markets for greenwood products. Can you help us out?

Moulton College students studying Countryside and Wildlife Management have teamed up with the Small Woods Association ( and the Rockingham Forest Coppice Group ( to design an online public survey to help identify the current and future demand for woodland products and training courses in this region. It is hoped that the results from this questionnaire will assist local forest crafts people and woodland owners and help them to manage their woods more sustainably for both wildlife and timber production.

So this is where you come in - we would greatly appreciate your thoughts so please help us by filling out the brief online survey and send it out to as many other interested people as you know. This is the link to the online survey:

For more information on this project or on courses at Moulton College, contact Dr James Littlemore at or 01604-491131.
